How the tools help
DotFixer is, first and foremost, a set of six free calculators that run right in your browser. Each one takes a real troubleshooting question and hands back a grounded number instead of a guess:
- The Data Storage Unit Converter moves between bits, bytes, KB, MB, GB, TB, and PB in both the decimal (SI, 1 KB = 1000 B) and binary (IEC, 1 KiB = 1024 B) systems — and shows you precisely why that “missing” drive capacity was never missing at all.
- The Download Time Calculator turns a file size and a connection speed into an honest time estimate, handling the megabit-versus-megabyte trap (100 Mbps ≈ 12.5 MB/s) and allowing for real-world overhead.
- The PC Power Supply (PSU) Wattage Calculator adds up the draw of your CPU, GPU, RAM, drives, and fans, then suggests a supply wattage with roughly 30% headroom, rounded to a common size for efficiency and future upgrades.

- The Screen Resolution & PPI Calculator turns a resolution and a diagonal size into pixel density (PPI), aspect ratio, total megapixels, and the matching display standard so you can compare two screens honestly.
- The Password Strength Checker estimates entropy in bits and an offline crack time from a password’s length and character variety. It runs entirely in your browser and never sends or stores what you type.

What DotFixer is, and what it is not
DotFixer is an independent website, supported by advertising, that keeps every tool and article free to use. It is not a repair shop and not a help desk: we do not perform physical repairs, recover data, or log in to your machine. The calculators follow established computing and networking conventions, but their results are estimates based on the figures you enter — real outcomes depend on your specific hardware, drivers, firmware, and configuration. Treat everything here as general educational information, not professional IT, data-recovery, or security advice.
